Your task is to identify a clinical research problem.
You may choose from the following topic areas to create your research question and
develop this assignment over the course of the term:

Consider it like this, what are you observing in your clinical settings that is a problem in
one of the areas listed above? Houser (2023) states, “often, research problems find the
nurse, rather than the other way around” (p. 86). The search for the research problem
can come from an almost unlimited number of resources. You will consider one problem
and will individually then create a problem statement.
Though writing about a researchable problem may seem a daunting task, pick up any
research article and you will see that the first 2-5 paragraphs are examples of how to
write a problem statement. In addition, review Chapter 4 in the course textbook for
more information about finding problems and writing research questions.
Instructions:
1. Select a clinical topic from the list above and identify a specific problem that
could be addressed through research.
2. Narrow down the problem to a specific population (e.g. adults in ICU, pediatric
patients post-surgery, nurses in home care, etc.).
3. Submit a 4 page paper that includes the following sections (and headers):
