PART ONE – THE SEARCH PROCESS:
Please write:
1. Source description: Please provide a description of the databases or other sources you utilized, along with your rationale for choosing them. Remember that you can draw from databases, as well as appropriate grey literature sources.
2. Search term description: Please identify the initial search terms you utilized for each facet of your search.
3.Description of the process: Your review process should be replicable, so please provide the following information for each search:
a. Name of the database
b. Date you searched the database
c. Limits used, if any
d. Actual search strategy
e. Results
4. Please discuss the evolution of your search process. Think about questions such as “How did you address problems (like finding too much or not enough information) that arose?”, “How and why did you adjust search terms?”, “What was it that led you to believe that you had accessed the most relevant information possible and that your search had been successful?”. There may be other questions to address, but this gives you a start.
PART TWO – REFLECTION
Please upload a *separate* thoughtful, well-constructed reflection about the articles, videos, and other resources in this Module.
Questions:
What terms or concepts from the readings and videos had you encountered before?
Which approach (biopsychosocial framework, ecological perspective, strengths perspective, or systems theory) best matches your own perspective? Why?
Which approach is the least similar to your perspective? Why?
What more would you like to learn about this topic?

MENTAL HEALTH COPES QUESTION

COPES Question
If adults 18-35 years suffering from depression are given Cognitive behavior therapy or
mindfulness-based training, which one will be more effective in reducing the severity of
depression, improving thought patterns, and reducing relapse?
Mental Health COPES Question Research
Depression in primary care is often underdiagnosed and undertreated, which presents a
notable risk factor to adults, children, and patients with underlying medical conditions. Proper
screening of depression among vulnerable groups is critical in the early diagnosis and treatment
of depression (Yu et al., 2020). It is essential to encourage primary care providers with adequate
systems to screen adults for depression routinely. A closed-end question like ‘Do you often feel
depressed or sad’ can help understand an individual’s mental state”. The main reason why
diagnosis and treatment of Depression is critical is that depression has a long-term adverse
impact on individuals and places a significant burden on their families. While numerous
researchers on depression have been conducted, there exists conflicting information on the most
effective treatment option for depression, which necessitates further research in this area.
Two commonly used treatment approaches for depression are Cognitive behavior therapy
and mindfulness intervention (Wojnarowski, et al, 2019). Current research has produced
conflicting results on the effectiveness of each approach. While both approaches have produced
promising results in clinical trials and healthcare settings, there is a need to perform further
research to compare the two and determine the shortcomings of each when used in a clinical
setting. In the primary care setting, conflicting demands and time constraints are significant
challenges in administering effective treatment for depression. Therefore, there is a need to
analyze how and when each of the approaches can be effectively used to deal with depression.

To answer my research question, I will use a keyword search to identify existing
literature on my topic. I will perform searches on peer-reviewed databases such as Google
Scholar, PubMed, and PsycInfo. I will use single words, phrases, or a combination of words and
phrases to search for specific articles on depression. Using filters will allow me to only select
peer-reviewed articles published recently since they contain relevant and accurate information on
my research topic.
