First classmate:
Hello Everyone,
I am Cory Webb, and I live in Michigan. I want to receive my 2nd MBA in Psychology. I
currently work for Comcast as a Customer Account Executive. I deal with all avenues of
billing, collections, sales, upgrades, downgrades, and technical support. Psychology in this
current environment is trending. The pandemic has caused mental issues to surface in people
who did not think they had any problems, which sparked my interest in the field.
I am most interested in personality disorders and the psychoanalytic perspective on
personality. I have always wanted to know why people make bad decisions or commit
criminal acts. Something triggers people’s behavior; it could be the wiring in their brain or a
traumatic childhood experience.
In my job, understanding how different personalities operate and what leads to their erratic
behavior will help me to further my career. The customers sound as though they need a
therapist. Their level of anger over an issue that can be resolved is very concerning.
Professionally, I handle myself in a manner that calms the customers. Once they realize I am
listening to their complaints, they stop screaming and begin to understand the situation.
Many of my friends have suffered from depression since the pandemic, and I want to help
them change their quality of life.
On the PsycCareer website, I saw the Director of Psychotherapy Services – Child &
Adolescent Division; I would aspire to do this. Part of the general summary stated provides
leadership for the psychotherapy staff. It also provides evidence-based care in diagnosing and
treating mental illness and substance use disorders within an interdisciplinary team and
makes operational changes to achieve cost, quality, and satisfaction targets. My weakness is
that I need to meet the educational requirement. I need a Doctoral degree in clinical or
psychology (Ph.D. or PsyD) and must have experience working in a pediatric setting, so I
would not qualify for the position now. However, I will have two Master’s degrees and have
a plan for a Ph.D., which will become my strength.

Second Student: Brandee Forster
Hello Professor and class,
My name is Brandee and I am 33 years old, married, with three children ages 13, 8, and 6.
We live in lake havasu city AZ and moved here in 2020. I have obtained two associates
degrees in behavioral science and humanities as well as a bachelors in psychology. I will be
finished with my masters in psychology in December of this year and then will be moving on
to my doctorate of psychology. My future plans include obtaining my doctorate and working
in the school district where I live. I chose not to use one of the recommended job sites
because I already have a job opportunity presenting itself before the next school year starts in
august. My school district is in need of two school psychologists, I have applied and have
talked to the superintendent and will be completing an interview within the next couple
months. This will also allow me to start logging my hours for my license while obtaining my
doctorate. The responsibilities listed for this position include various tasks within the areas of
referral/evaluation, consultation, district testing, gifted program, counseling, liaison, record
keeping, and curriculum development. This position will be full time 10-month contract
with benefits.
I would be a good candidate for this position because I have a great deal of knowledge in the
field of psychology, as well as child development, behavior, and ABA. I have worked in a
child care setting before and have worked with many different types of children. I volunteer
and the schools in the district weekly so I am well acquainted with many of the children and
staff members inside and outside of school. I have also coached rec sports teams in the city
and know many of the children from those activities as well. Weaknesses could include
being out of the work force since my youngest son was born, but prior to that I was a
Starbucks manager at a very busy location. During the time that I have not worked I have
been continuously in school gaining my education including extra classes for this job. By
obtaining my masters at UAGC, I feel it makes me more competitive because the only other
person who is close to being eligible for this position just started her masters class and wont
be finished for certification for over a year.
3RD classmate: Torri James
Hey,
My Name is Torri James, I live in Columbus, Georgia, born and raised here. I recently
celebrated a birthday, and I am now 31 years old with two daughters ages 12 and 9. I lost my
partner last year, in June it will be one year, and it does not seem like it at all. I currently
hold a behavior therapy license and work with girls who have had highly traumatic events,
and with the Department of Juvenile Justice. I also work with children and adolescents up to
18 with ASD autism spectrum disorder or behavior deficit. I am counting down til October
to be done with this degree program. Also, With this degree, I plan to become a BCBA
which requires supervision hours and the degree of course and submit to the board to take
the exam after they feel like I am knowledgeable enough to take on the role. A weakness of
my mind would be that I relate to some of the individual’s experiences I work with, I have a
loving heart and my skin is not as tough as others in certain situations. I believe there are
other routes to get a child to respond to you without yelling or screaming and others find it
quite natural. My strengths include I am a very good listener and I pick up on things fast.
Also, I am very dependable and honest when it comes to business and the real world. I saw a
position on Indeed for a BCBA and one of the qualifications was to manage up to 15 cases
right now I have 8 girls on my caseload so I have plenty of experience in this field I am sure I
can take on 7 more.
