Introduction:
Homeostasis depends on the ability of different systems in your body to
communicate with one another. To maintain homeostasis, messages must be
generated, delivered, interpreted, and acted upon by your body. The nervous
system and the endocrine system are the communication networks that allow
you to respond to changes in your environment countless times each day.
The nervous system is a physically connected network of cells, tissues, and
organs that controls thoughts, movements, and simpler life processes, such
as swallowing. The brain is a very important part of the CNS. The chemicals that
regulate different functions in different areas of the brain are called
neurotransmitters. There are different types of neurotransmitters that do
different functions.
The endocrine system makes chemical signals that help the body grow, develop,
and maintain homeostasis. Some of these chemicals control processes
such as cell division, cell death, and sexual development. Others help you
maintain homeostasis by affecting body temperature, alertness, or salt levels.
The chemical signals made by the endocrine system are called hormones.
Hormones are made in organs called glands, which are found in many different
areas of the body.

Select one only of the following two topics:
1) A neurotransmitter
2) A hormone.
Prepare your research and PowerPoint for the selected topic
according to the given outline. Your work should reflect your
understanding of the topic, copy and paste information will be traced,
if that happens, the project will be rejected and graded with zero.
Project outline:
1- Write an introduction to explain a background about the selected
neurotransmitter or hormone (10 marks)
2- Describe the chemical structure of the selected neurotransmitter or hormone.
(7marks)
3- Show different figures that explain structure and function. (8 marks)
4- Describe the sources of its production. ( 6 marks)
5- Explain its mode of action. ( 8 marks)
6-Describe the treatment of two deficiency related diseases. (7marks)
7- Cite your References (books or electronic resources. (4marks)
