The purpose of this assignment is to use the skill of reflection to identify what you have learned from this course and how you will use this information moving forward in your career.
In two pages, answer the following questions:
Smart goal
To improve my multitasking skills, I’ve decided to strengthen my prioritising skills. I am
making this smart goal so that I can enable my focus on my priorities and achieve my
desired goals on time.
Specific
By the end of this month, I will have developed and implemented a
prioritisation system that will allow me to properly manage my time and focus
on the most critical things.
Measurable Determining the importance and urgency of my tasks. Important tasks help
me achieve my goals considerably, however urgent chores require immediate
attention. A balance between the two must be achieved.
Attainable
Breaking down lager activities: complex or large scale tasks, for example, can
be broken down into smaller, manageable tasks. This allows me to concentrate
on certain actions and make steady progress. By exploring different
prioritisation tools such as Eisenhower matrix( urgent Vs. important), or ABC
analysis etc.
Relevant
My ability to prioritise tasks will assist me in meeting deadlines and
efficiently achieving both short and long term goals.
Time-
Regularly practicing and refining my technique will assist me in building a
bound
habit of efficiently prioritising activities. By the end of this month, i want to
have successfully implemented such a prioritisation system.
Identification and details of the resources needed
I’d need to explore several prioritization strategies, such as the Eisenhower Matrix (Urgent
vs. Important), ABC Analysis (categorizing jobs by priority), and Time Blocking (allocating
specific time periods for tasks). After reviewing these tools, I will select the best one for me
and keep a logbook to help me prioritise my tasks.
Plan to practice the skill and desired goals
At the onset of each day or week, I will determine my top priorities and arrange time for
them. This would allow me to stay focused and avoid becoming overwhelmed. I would use
the ABC analysis to compare tasks based on their importance and urgency.
Identifying the tasks that must be completed in order to demonstrate the goal’s
achievement
Take stock of all my responsibilities, obligations, and ambitions to determine what needs to
be prioritised. Determine my short-term and long-term objectives and set deadlines for
each. Sort tasks according to their priority and urgency. Important tasks help me achieve my
goals considerably, however urgent tasks require immediate attention.
Setting date of accomplishing goal
I would successfully execute a prioritization system by the end of the month if I use the ABC
analysis, compared the tasks, and then prioritized them based on their importance or urgency.
