When playing football, it is very common for players to suffer injuries. It is a
known part of the game and should be expected in a contact sport.
However, over the past few years concussions have become a major topic
when discussing football and its potential dangers. We have seen a
significant rise in the number of head injuries and concussions suffered in
games/practices.
Concussions are brain injuries that result from traumatic impact to the
head. Concussions themselves are serious conditions, causing symptoms of
memory loss, head pain, blurred vision, and dizziness. In some cases,
symptoms are more severe and can lead to death
Preventions
• More education/awareness
• Wear proper equipment at all times
• Proper evaluations/diagnosis
• Learn proper tackling techniques
• Resigned helmets
• New rules prioritizing player safety
