The US healthcare industry especially (hospitals) is heavily regulated by Federal,State, Local and six voluntary agencies. As future healthcare professionals, it is
imperative that you are familiar with some of those agencies and their functions as
they relate to health care delivery system in the US, also some of these regulations
could have dire financial consequences on your organization. Because, violation
could lead to prison time and/or hefty fines which will affect an organization’ s
bottom line. To that end, you are required to complete this assignment. Define each
agency (all 40 agency listed below). Indicate whether the agency is Federal, State or
Local and what are if any the consequences (Fines, jail time, suspensions of
professional or operating licenses) for violations.
