Assignment 19 – DNA Replication
1. Draw and label all components (enzymes, proteins, DNA, etc.) of DNA replication occurring
at a replication fork. Number them as to the order of their use in replicating DNA. Define
the function of each enzyme.
2. Draw out three rounds of replication of a linear strand of DNA using the PCR technique.
Point out the components used in each step and in each round.
3. List and explain the components that are commonly used for DNA replication and PCR?
4. What is the problem with the end of a chromosome after replication? Draw and describe
how a cell finishes the end of the linear chromosome after replication.
