RESEARCH OR PROJECT BRIEF
Purpose:
The purpose of this assignment is to for you and your group members to provide a ‘RESEARCH OR
PROJECT BRIEF’ on your research/project for this term. The intention of this brief is to communicate in
a concise manner the critical details of your research or project for this term. This brief will give your
Faculty the ability to review your plan and provide recommendations on areas of improvement to
ensure a successful research/project completion within the term.
At this point, your Faculty will give you your approval for participation in this term’s
research/project.
Format:
This research or project brief is to be written in APA format for a maximum of 3 pages. This document
is to have the following areas:
1) Cover page – This is to include an appropriate title of your research or project along with each
member in your group and date of brief submission.
2) Research or Project Statement – This is a minimum of one paragraph and provides an overview
of what the research or project is intended to cover. In writing the statement, ensure you cover
the target organization/population, why the research/project is important, and the contribution
to the healthcare system this brief will enhance/impact.
3) Research or Project Question/Objective – Provide a question or objective of your
research/project. This can be one that was communicated by your Faculty or that adapted by
your and your team.
4) Literature Review – This is to be a minimum of one page and communicate the topic as it has
been researched previously. This component is essential to highlight evidence based on
research and theories/concept that explains the topic. Appropriate referencing is critical and
sources are to be a minimum of 5 years old from date of the brief.
5) Method/Data Analysis – Provide an overview of your planned process of achieving your research
or project objective or question. This is to cover type of research (qualitative or quantitative);
process of collecting data (survey, data analysis, interview); and how data analysis will be
completed.
6) Results – In this section, you are to provide a prediction of what you anticipate your results will
be. Use research from your literature review and your understanding of the topic to make the
prediction.
7) Timeline – As a researcher, it is essential to develop timelines for your research. Using the
schedule of INFO6064 and its due dates and tasks as aligned to ‘FIELD DELIVERY’ & your above
material, develop a timeline of deliverables for your research/project.
8) References – List your references and resources used to date. THIS MUST ADHERE TO 7TH
EDITION APA FORMAT.
